Happy 4 Months!

Mackenna celebrated her 4 month milestone with more of the same daily activities: eating, pooping, smiling, and not a whole heck of a lot of shut eye.

The pic is one of my first prototypes of my diapers with my new tags I got today! They are appropriately brown in color with sort of a messy looking font valled 'crud'! How fitting!

Social Butterfly

Mackenna was quite the social butterfly this weekend! On Friday we had a play date with the Habbens and then on Saturday we had TWO parties! The first was a shower for our friend Disa who had four AweSOMe babies in March, 3 weeks to the day after Mackenna was born. The second was Nana's 92nd birthday party.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.
Mackenna rolled all the way over at the shower, from her back to her front to her back again! She's quite the overachiever for an almost 4 month old!

Big Day!

Today was a big day! We had our final post-placement visit with our social worker so that we can start to get all the paperwork filed filed for Mackenna's finalization that will hopefully happen this summer sometime. We also got to meet with our birthmom, Satin and her mom as well as meet up with Mackenna's birth dad's parents, sisters, and grandparents.
Our birthmom, Satin, and Mackenna. She got to hold her a bunch and even change her diaper!Satin, her mom, Lisa, and Mackenna in one of the few pictures today where she smiled. I guess she is all smiled out from the last few days! Lisa fed Mackenna. It was great to catch up with them. We also celebrated Satin's Sweet 16! Happy Birthday! Our birthdad's family got to see Mackenna and meet Jaden for the first time. He had a blast playing at the play place watching the girls play and share french fries. Mackenna got to meet her birth great-grandparents, too! Wendy and the girls read Jaden a new book that they gave him, acting out the whole thing. Little did they know that he would read it ALL the way home. I think he said, "stomp your feet" about a trillion times. All in all it was a great but tiring day. Looking forward to Brett's 2nd Father's day this weekend. It was Father's day weekend of '08, two years ago that we found out that Jaden's birthmom had chosen us to adopt him! Wow, so much can change in 2 years!

Finally a video from a week or so again of Jaden reading to Mackenna. Boy. That took a short 4 hours to upload. Holy Moly. One more when I have another 4 hours. ;)

Memorial Day Weekend and MORE!

Today I am officially unemployed! My new vocation as full time parent started out early this morning when the kidlets woke up. What a beautiful day! We had to celebrate by going on a nice walk in the double stroller. 2.3 miles pushing about 65 pounds up and down huge hills in Hidden Springs makes a body tired! (and hopefully a bit more buff as I have SERIOUSLY gone down hill in that department since getting Mackenna)

This morning I'm trying to get everything online done that I need to before I have to bring my laptop back to church to hand it over. They might have to pry it out of my hands. My goal is to order a new one really soon.

We had a great memorial day weekend with family! Here are some pictures.
